Minor Works – J. Tillman (2006)

A beautiful piece of work, the more you listen to this album the more it grabs your insides and spits them out, it’s truly a remarkable album. The title track is almost impossibly sad.

what can i say about this album .there are very few albums that just blow you away and for me when i got this it basically just kicked the fuck right out of me . also the amount of arguements i have had over the issue that the fleet foxes drummer has a solo album . i keep saying he wasnt in the fleet foxes when he released minor works . and he is only in fleet foxes at the moment cause they had no drummer so makes sense from a label point of view to send them both out on tour . as he did start of as a drummer with another seattle band .
anyway seen him on tour with damien jurado and looking forward to catching him at the end of the road .
also while am here have you checked out patterson hood's new solo album from the drive by truckers ???

Thanks, Sir Charlie! For those interested there's a couple more J Tillman efforts at the High Fidelity Records blog. Seems Tillman was well into a solo career when he decided to pick up the sticks for Fleet Foxes. Sir Charlie, hope you're reconsidering packing it in. Where else will folks find a post of a fine Lawrence, Kansas band like Ghosty. Thanks for being here.

This guy is crazy talented. Easily one of my favorite singers working today. I'm hoping he's heavily featured when Fleet Foxes go back in the studio. If not, then just keep putting out these records my man.

Hey - just saw this on his MySpace:
The new record, "Year In The Kingdom", will be out in Sept. through Western Vinyl and Bella Union.

Buy it, yeah?
