32 years old and it still wipes the floor with some of the shite that is released nowadays and called great.

Dear Sir.

You are right! One of the best live albums I know (bought the album when it was first released), not only because of the music but even more because of the interaction between Jonathan and the public ("This is a brand new shirt!").
Thanks for all your uploads, have fun in Glastonbury (will be going there for my summer holidays, but alas a month after the festival) and I hope you will decide to go on with this fantastic blog!

Never heard this one before, great stuff. I've got most of Johnathan Richman's work and love the self-titled Modern Lovers record. I always associate it with the bleakness of winter though for some strange reason. Love the line 'Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole'.
I spose there is something about listening to Johnathan Richman's work that makes it all seem so effortless and a million miles away from the kind of market stategist, style guru banality that makes much of what passes for alternative music these days sound so calculated and disposable.
There's still plenty of great music about of course but there's not too many of the curent crop of modern icons that really intrigue to the same extent as unshackled, uncontrolled and unpackaged personalities like Johnathan Richman.
Been listening to 'Rockin and Romance' alot lately. Now that's a real summer album if ever I've heard one.
